Background

Peggy's family canoe was rescued from a property on Lac Marois in the Laurentians where her family have had a cottage for 5 generations.  The canoe, according to Peggy, was found by her parents in pretty rough shape as it was unprotected and not used in a long time. They had it re-canvassed and restored by a local company called 'Canots Norwest' and then gifted it to her and her sister as they had done the same with another cedar canoe for my brothers several years prior. Sadly, this well established and very busy company was lost to fire in January 2023 and so the new restoration was put on hold. With the loss of Canots Norwest, The plan now is to have Afloat Canoe restore the canoe and gift it to the next generation of canoeing enthusiasts!
